The UK’s Net Zero Technology Centre has released a new report that analyses the suitability of the UK’s over 45,000km of oil and gas pipelines for transporting hydrogen.
Repurposed pipelines could be a vital aspect of the growing hydrogen economy in the UK with pipelines regarded as one of the quickest and cost-effective methods of transporting vast quantities of hydrogen from point-to-point.
With this, the Net Zero Technology Centre has conducted the report A Methodology for assessing a pipelines fitness for change of use which will be used to identify the readiness and feasibility of converting the UK’s pipelines for hydrogen.
